Hellish Cashstrap
about
Hellish Cashstrap is the moniker of Scott Kellerhouse, composer of electronic music of a uniquely unsettling and desolate timbre. His music ranges from menacing, rhythmically driven tunes evocative of nineties Warp Records to abstract soundscapes, but through a singular prism: All are unified by an aural quality of decay, as if irradiated by nuclear fallout, through digital and analogue degradation. The music evokes contradictory states: submerged but aloft, blissfully transcendent then terrifyingly alienating. Live performances feature various electronics, guitar, processed vocals and radio signals.
